I know, I know, it’s been a minute. When I got back from my trip to Palo Alto (with the resounding impression that it was time to do some homework before the next sojourn) I fully intended to make this substack into a series documenting my journey into the weird and wonderful world of programming languages, machine learning, and other assorted tomfoolery.
But it turned out that what I really wanted to do was … do some homework. Without getting into too much detail, that homework evolved into the goal of creating a new website in zero (the new programming language I’m trying to build). That’s underway, and will host my writing (on both work and life) once it’s up and running.
In the meantime, I’ve decided to use this substack to document my adventures in what is (often misleadingly) termed “real life”. And since I haven’t been having any adventures (at least, not ones that are novel), I ended up not posting.
That changes now!
I’m taking a month-long trip to India, to spend some time with my parents (in the town of Dehradun, up in the hills of a northern state called Uttarakhand). And then I’m going to spend two weeks in Bangalore, the technology capital of India, in much the same spirit that I visited Palo Alto at the beginning of the year : discovering places, working on little side projects, meeting interesting people (or boring ones), taking pictures, seeing if there’s a place in the jigsaw puzzle into which I might fit.
See you on the journey !
